When a secret breaks friendship

A cozy gathering, a glass of wine, and the finale of the French Open: Fabian looks forward to a relaxed evening with his friends Éric and Jérôme. But then Éric arrives earlier than expected and brings a secret that should never have seen the light of day. Shortly afterward, Jérôme also shows up at the door – also with a highly confidential message in tow.

Punchlines instead of small talk

In Secrets (Secret.s), a harmless evening among friends transforms into a comedic chamber play full of life lies, truths, and surprising twists. Fabian tries to keep the entrusted information discreet. This sounds reasonable, but it fails as reliably as a resolution to laugh quietly in the theater.

Perfect timing at the German Theater Göttingen

The comedy by Sébastien Blanc thrives on precise timing, punchy dialogues, and a steadily increasing audience reaction. Particularly clever: the contrasting twin brothers Éric and Jérôme are played by just one actor. This creates a dynamic stage presence where every door, every glance, and every late-word spoken leads to new entanglements.

Between loyalty and delightful chaos

The play portrays friendship, rivalry, and the question of how long the truth can be hidden with plenty of situational comedy. Director Jochen Strauch relies on concentrated acting and a dense comedy atmosphere. The 65-minute performance combines French comedic art with German-speaking theater and a laughter experience that places its punchlines exactly where no one expects them.

An evening for fans of clever comedy

Sébastien Blanc is a French actor, director, and author. Secret.s premiered in 2024 at the Théâtre de la Madeleine in Paris and had its German-speaking premiere in 2025 at the Theater Heilbronn. In Göttingen, the comedy offers a rapid mix of stand-up-like directness, classic boulevard, and finely crafted interaction between the characters.

Conclusion: Laugh before everything is revealed

If you're in the mood for punchy dialogues, surprising revelations, and an acting challenge with a special twist, you will experience an entertaining theater evening at the German Theater Göttingen. In Secrets (Secret.s), nothing remains hidden for long – except perhaps the attempt to stay serious during the next punchline.
