When a secret turns friendship upside down

A cozy evening with friends, a glass of wine, and the finals of the French Open – for Fabian, this sounds like perfect relaxation. Then Éric bursts in and reveals a secret that has more explosive power than any bad excuse for being late. In the comedy Secrets (Secret.s) by Sébastien Blanc, a seemingly relaxed evening at the German Theatre Göttingen goes out of tune.

Jokes at a Minute's Pace

Fabian wants to keep the entrusted information safe, but Jérôme also shows up earlier than planned. Éric hides in the bathroom, truths collide with life lies, and a sociable evening turns into a comedic chamber play full of tempo. The production combines stand-up-like directness with classic comedy timing, sharp dialogues, and a hefty dose of absurd chaos.

One Actor, Two Twins, Maximum Confusion

Particularly appealing is the stage play with the opposing twin brothers Éric and Jérôme: Both characters are portrayed by one actor. This creates a clever mix of mix-up comedy, interaction, and precise stage technique. Meanwhile, Fabian tries not to get caught in the crossfire between loyalty, rivalry, and family entanglements.

French Comedy with Strong Timing

Sébastien Blanc is an actor, director, and author. Secret.s premiered in 2024 at the Théâtre de la Madeleine in Paris and was shown for the first time in German at the Theater Heilbronn in 2025. The Göttingen production focuses on short distances, adaptable intimacy, and a concentrated comedy atmosphere. Critics praise the increasing tempo, the rapidity of the punchlines, and the stage presence of the ensemble.

A Compact Evening Full of Laughter

With a duration of 65 minutes, the comedy remains pleasantly concentrated. Laughter, surprising twists, and well-timed pauses drive the story forward until a private confession turns into a full-blown catastrophe. Those who enjoy chamber plays, darkly humorous entanglements, and intelligent boulevard theater will experience a theatrical evening with precise timing and plenty of explosive material.

Conclusion

Secrets (Secret.s) shows how quickly a confidential sentence can blow the entire evening apart. Visitors can expect a fast-paced comedy about truth, lies, friendship, and family loyalty. Anyone who wants to witness how a harmless evening becomes a fireworks display of punchlines should secure this date at the German Theatre Göttingen.
