Deep in the groove: Göttingen experiences an open jazz session at Nörgelbuff

Deep in the groove: Göttingen's Jazz stage opens up

On Monday, October 19, 2026, the Nörgelbuff in Göttingen will again transform into an open meeting point for jazz, groove, and spontaneous musical encounters. The series Deep in the groove – Jazzsession begins at 21:00 with an opener, after which the stage belongs to groups and solo artists.

An evening full of musical surprises

This jazz session thrives on the moment: a brief introduction sets the sound framework, then the program develops right in front of the audience. Jazz, blues, funk, electro, and freestyle come together as musicians elaborate on their ideas in changing lineups. Each combination brings new dynamics, and each improvisation alters the groove.

Live atmosphere in a historic cellar

The Nörgelbuff is located in a historic vaulted cellar in Göttingen's city center. The intimate atmosphere creates short distances between the stage and the audience, making musical details immediately tangible. Acoustics, rhythm, and audience mood combine to create a concert experience that does not rely on a fixed setlist.

Open stage for jazz, blues, and groove

After the opener, it’s open stage for groups and solo artists. Anyone wishing to perform can register at the stage on the evening itself. This format is thus aimed equally at experienced musicians, curious session guests, and everyone who wants to experience improvised live music in its most spontaneous form.

A fixed date in Göttingen's jazz scene

Deep in the groove takes place regularly on the third Monday of the month and is in cooperation with the Jazzfestival Göttingen e.V. The session combines musical practice, open encounters, and local jazz culture. For the audience, it creates an evening whose appeal lies in the direct synchronization of the musicians and the energy of the moment.

Conclusion: Experience jazz live as it unfolds

Deep in the groove – Jazzsession promises no interchangeable concert evening, but immediate stage performance with an open outcome. Those who love jazz, blues, funk, and improvised music will experience a dynamic sound picture full of surprises at the Nörgelbuff. Come by, listen, and discover the groove live.
