Film Art at the Lumière Cinema: An Afternoon for Special Images
The Lumière Cinema Program invites you to a film screening in Göttingen on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at 3:00 PM. The traditional programming cinema on Geismar Landstraße stands for carefully selected films, international perspectives, and a vibrant cinema culture beyond the mainstream.
An Artistic Experience in the Dark Cinema Hall
When the hall darkens and the projector's light reaches the screen, a special aesthetic experience begins. Film connects painting, photography, music, acting, and dramaturgy into an independent art form. Image composition, editing, color design, and spatial effects open up an intense examination of works that allows everyday life to fade into the background for a few hours.
Art Cinema with a Cultural Profile
The Lumière Cinema is one of the important locations in Göttingen for film art and cultural education. Together with the Méliès Cinema, it regularly presents demanding feature and documentary films, international productions, original versions, as well as special film series and festivals. The programming cinemas are supported by the Film and Cinema Initiative e. V. and have shaped the local cinema landscape for decades.
Atmosphere, Encounter, and Cinematic Curiosity
A visit to the Lumière cinema combines focused film viewing with an open exhibition atmosphere of moving images. Each screening creates space for new topics, unfamiliar perspectives, and discussions about social, historical, and artistic questions. The cinema thus becomes a place of encounter and a stage for contemporary film culture.
Practical Information for Cinema Visits
The screening starts at 3:00 PM. Admission is 30 minutes before the start. The regular entry fee is 9 euros; students, trainees, unemployed individuals, and holders of a Gildepass pay 8 euros. The Lumière Cinema is located at Geismar Landstraße 19 in Göttingen and is wheelchair accessible.
Conclusion: Experience Film Art Live
The Lumière Cinema Program promises a concentrated artistic experience for anyone who values film as a cultural expression and sensual experience. Those who want to experience special images, demanding stories, and the atmosphere of an independent program cinema should take this opportunity for an inspiring examination of works at the Lumière.
