On November 18, 2026, the MÉLIÈS cinema in Göttingen invites you to a carefully curated cinema evening. The screening starts at 5:30 PM and combines selected film art with the special atmosphere of a traditional program cinema.
Concentrated Exhibition Atmosphere of the Moving Image
In the darkened cinema hall, the moving image unfolds its own aesthetic experience. Light, editing, sound, and acting shape a space of intense contemplation of the work. The MÉLIÈS stands for a culture of concentrated viewing and a film program away from the usual mainstream.
The Program on November 18, 2026
At 5:30 PM, the documentary Helene Weigel – Revolutionary in the Spotlight will be on the program. This German production from 2026 is dedicated to the actress and theater personality Helene Weigel and lasts about 102 minutes.
The evening program will continue at 8:00 PM with the German adventure thriller The Other Side. The runtime is approximately 105 minutes. Thus, the MÉLIÈS offers a varied cinema day between documentary approach and thrilling fiction.
Cinema as Cultural Education
Program cinemas open access to social issues, historical perspectives, and different cinematic narrative forms. The careful curation of the MÉLIÈS makes the cinema visit a cultural experience that goes beyond mere entertainment and stimulates self-reflection.
