Egbert Krause-Wessel invites you to the Search for Light in Göttingen

On Sunday, October 25, 2026, the exhibition The Search for Light opens its doors at the Torhaus Gallery Göttingen. From 15:00 to 17:00, visitors will encounter a selection of artistic works by Egbert Krause-Wessel – with free admission and in a focused gallery atmosphere.

Illuminated Spaces between Color and Material

The exhibition presents works since 1980, primarily using resin oil glaze techniques on cardboard, silk, and gold leaf. Transparent layers of color, reflective surfaces, and finely constructed structures create pictorial spaces that fully unfold only upon longer observation. Light appears not only as a motif but as an active component of the composition.

Fantastic Formations for Your Own Perspective

Egbert Krause-Wessel directs his gaze towards extraordinary structures and fantastic formations. His works oscillate between painting and drawing, between figurative impression and free association. What initially appears as a color trace or abstract surface develops its own inner dramaturgy upon closer inspection.

A Sensory Encounter with Contemporary Art

The Torhaus Gallery provides the appropriate resonance space for this quiet, intensive examination of the works. Changing light reflections on gold leaf and silk, the depth of the glazes, and the tactile presence of the pictorial carriers create an atmosphere in which seeing becomes a conscious experience. Instead of quick stimuli, concentrated perception takes center stage.

An Afternoon for Painting and Drawing

The exhibition combines artistic technical precision with open visual worlds. Resin oil glazes, cardboard, silk, and gold leaf enter into a thrilling relationship and demonstrate how strongly material, surface, and light define the impact of an artwork. Art enthusiasts, curious explorers, and anyone seeking a quiet cultural moment will find immediate access here.

Conclusion: See Light, Discover Structures

The Search for Light promises an intense art experience between luminous surfaces, enigmatic forms, and decades of artistic work. Those who wish to experience painting and drawing in their atmospheric depth should take advantage of the exhibition date on October 25, 2026, at the Torhaus Gallery Göttingen. Admission is free.
