Film Art with Atmosphere: The Lumière Movie Program in Göttingen
On Saturday, November 7, 2026, the cinema LUMIÈRE in Göttingen invites you to its current movie program. From 3:00 PM, selected films, concentrated moments on the screen, and the special intimacy of a program cinema are in focus. The cinema visit combines a shared event experience with demanding film culture.
Program Cinema with Its Own Profile
The LUMIÈRE is one of the established program cinemas in Göttingen and is operated by the Film- and Cinema Initiative Göttingen e. V. The organization stands for a versatile selection of films, cultural events, and a conscious targeting of audiences beyond ordinary mainstream cinema. Depending on the schedule, the spectrum ranges from European auteur cinema to documentaries and special film series and screenings.
An Afternoon at the Cinema for Film Enthusiasts
When the auditorium lights are dimmed and the first images appear on the screen, a calm event atmosphere emerges that characterizes the LUMIÈRE. The manageable cinema environment creates space for attention, emotions, and lasting impressions. Film lovers experience here not just projection and sound but a cultural meeting point with a personal audience mood.
Well-Planned Visit in Göttingen
The regular admission at LUMIÈRE is currently listed at 10 euros. Reduced tickets cost 8 euros, tickets with a social card cost 5 euros. The cinema box office is open daily from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM and opens outside this time frame half an hour before the start of children's cinema, matinees, and late shows. Therefore, timely ticket planning is recommended for the 3:00 PM appointment.
The cinema is located at Geismar Landstraße 19. Bus lines 21 and 22 stop at Leibnizstraße. In the evening, free parking is available a few minutes away at the parking lot of the New Town Hall. The LUMIÈRE also has barrier-free access.
