Cinema Art with a Special Character: The Méliès Cinema Program in Göttingen
On Wednesday, October 28, 2026, the MÉLIÈS cinema in Göttingen invites you to a special cinema evening at 5:30 PM. The carefully curated Méliès Cinema Program combines sophisticated film culture with the concentrated atmosphere of a traditional program cinema.
Arthouse Flair in a Special Cinema Hall
At MÉLIÈS, the shared event experience is the focus. Away from the mainstream, selected films, a stylish ambiance, and the tense audience atmosphere of a true program cinema come together. The cinema hall on Bürgerstraße creates a calm setting for intense stories and impressive images.
Film Program with Stance and Profile
The MÉLIÈS cinema is part of the Göttingen houses of the Film and Cinema Initiative Göttingen e. V. and stands for demanding film series, international productions, and special screenings. The organization connects cultural target group communication with careful event planning, making the cinema a fixed address for film fans in Southern Lower Saxony.
Entry, Tickets, and Access
Entry begins 30 minutes before the start of the show. The regular admission price is 9 euros; reduced tickets cost 8 euros. Discounts apply, among others, to students, trainees, unemployed individuals, and holders of guild passes. The cinema is wheelchair accessible. Public parking is available nearby at the Wall; additionally, MÉLIÈS is accessible by public transportation.
