Film Art at Cinema MÉLIÈS: An Evening for Grand Images and Special Stories
The Méliès cinema program invites you to a selected cinematic experience in Göttingen on Saturday, November 7, 2026. The screening begins at 5:30 PM and combines sophisticated film art with the focused exhibition atmosphere of a traditional program cinema.
Cinematic Diversity at the Göttingen Program Cinema
The cinema MÉLIÈS stands for a carefully curated selection of international and German-language films. Central to the focus are works that unfold social themes, personal fates, and cultural perspectives in vivid images. Each screening becomes an aesthetic experience: light, editing, acting, and music condense in the dark cinema hall into a unique spatial effect.
Artful Viewing on the Big Screen
A program cinema like MÉLIÈS opens film as a cultural practice. The screen becomes a place of viewing, where cinematic design matters as much as plot and atmosphere. Documentary films, dramas, and international film art create connections for cultural education and encourage a new examination of familiar perspectives.
An Art Experience with Personal Closeness
The special quality of the Méliès cinema program lies in its proximity to the film and the audience. Instead of interchangeable mass entertainment, a concentrated cinema visit with carefully selected productions arises. The intimate exhibition atmosphere of the house supports the immediate effect of colors, faces, landscapes, and narrative tensions.
Practical Information for Your Cinema Visit
The regular admission for cinema MÉLIÈS is 11 Euros. Discounts apply, among others, for students, apprentices, schoolchildren, the unemployed, persons with a severe disability ID, guild pass holders, and volunteer cards. The reduced price is 8 Euros, and for Social Card holders, it is 5 Euros. Admission begins 30 minutes before the screening starts.
The cinema is located at Bürgerstraße 13 in Göttingen. The screening is expected to last until 7:30 PM. A visit to MÉLIÈS promises a concentrated aesthetic experience, new cinematic perspectives, and an inspiring evening for all who wish to experience cinema as an art form.
