Film Art at the Cinema MÉLIÈS: An Evening for Special Stories
The Méliès Cinema Program invites you to a special cinema evening in Göttingen on November 11, 2026. In the traditional program cinema on Bürgerstraße, the concentrated atmosphere of the cinema hall combines with carefully selected films and a vibrant film culture.
Program Cinema with Its Own Signature
The cinema MÉLIÈS stands for demanding film screenings beyond the mainstream. The name recalls the French film pioneer Georges Méliès, whose visionary imagery shaped the early history of cinema. Today, the Göttingen venue offers space for film art, international productions, and selected cinematic discoveries.
The Artistic Experience in the Dark Cinema Hall
When the lights go out and the projection begins, a concentrated exhibition atmosphere of a unique kind emerges: Moving images, montage, music, and acting shape an aesthetic experience that sharpens perception and opens new perspectives. The contemplation of the work takes place not in front of a screen in a museum, but in the temporal rhythm of the film.
Admission and Start Time
The film screening begins on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, at 5:30 PM and is expected to end around 7:30 PM. Admission starts 30 minutes before the start. Visitors can expect a roughly two-hour cinema appointment at the cinema MÉLIÈS in Göttingen.
Cultural Education Through Film
Program cinema opens access to social issues, historical contexts, and different cinematic narrative forms. The careful curation of the Méliès Cinema Program makes the evening a cultural encounter that combines entertainment and reflection.
The Méliès Cinema Program promises a concentrated artistic experience for all who appreciate film as an independent art form. Those who want to experience moving images consciously, discover new cinematic perspectives, and enjoy the special atmosphere of a Göttingen program cinema should not miss this evening live at the cinema MÉLIÈS.
