Film Art at the MÉLIÈS Cinema: A Special Evening in Göttingen
On October 24, 2026, the Méliès Film Program invites you to a focused film evening in Göttingen at 5:30 PM. The traditional program cinema creates an atmosphere where demanding film culture and shared experiences come together through carefully selected film screenings.
Arthouse Cinema with a Unique Profile
The MÉLIÈS cinema stands for a diverse program cinema culture beyond the mainstream. International, German, and socially relevant films are given a platform here. The dark salad atmosphere, the interplay of light and shadow, and the undivided attention of the audience transform the screening into an intense stage experience of a special kind.
Dramaturgy on the Screen
Each film screening unfolds its own dramaturgy: images, montage, acting, music, and acoustics combine to create a holistic experience. The Méliès offers a cultural space where film is not consumed incidentally but perceived collectively and pondered upon after the credits roll.
Admission and Cinema Visit
Admission begins 30 minutes before the start of the show. The event takes place at the MÉLIÈS cinema at Bürgerstraße 13 and is expected to last until 7:30 PM. The regular admission fee is 9 euros; a reduced price of 8 euros applies to students, trainees, the unemployed, and guild cardholders.
The audience can expect a concentrated cinema evening with a special theater atmosphere, cinematic precision, and space for sustainable audience reactions. Those who want to experience film art in a characterful program cinema should not miss this event live at the MÉLIÈS.
