Color Film in Göttingen: Nina Hagen's Life as a Theatrical Song Spectacle

On Tuesday, October 27, 2026, the German Theatre Göttingen will present Color Film, an extraordinary music theatre experience on stage. The production, directed by Jette Büshel, is dedicated to Nina Hagen, her unmistakable stage persona, and a biography that oscillates between punk, pop, provocation, and artistic self-transformation.

Between Punk, Pop, and Public Image

At the center are Hannah and Nina Hagen – two characters whose perspectives, identities, and memories are set in motion together. The well-known song You Forgot the Color Film serves as an important reference point for an evening about public images, personal freedom, and the question of how a person continually reinvents themselves.

Music, Video, and Striking Stage Design

The production combines acting, music theatre, video art, and a consciously distinctive stage language. The stage, costumes, and video are created by Thorben Schümüller, with music by Michael Frei. This results in an intense event atmosphere where sound, color, body, and light shape the audience's mood.

A Theatrical Evening with Energy and Stance

Color Film is aimed at anyone who wants to experience Nina Hagen as an icon of German pop and punk history while enjoying experimental theatre. The production intertwines biographical traces with humorous moments, musical dynamics, and a visual design that transcends a classical play performance.

From the perspective of event planning, the German Theatre Göttingen aims at a strong target audience: pop culture, contemporary theatre, and musical stage art converge. The evening promises a high-energy mix of recognition, surprise, and artistic friction.

Conclusion: Experience Nina Hagen Live as a Stage Figure

Visitors can expect a colorful theatrical evening about music, identity, and the freedom to not be confined to a single role. Those who appreciate Nina Hagen, unusual theatrical forms, and intense stage moments will experience a special production with Color Film at the German Theatre Göttingen.
