When the voice becomes the space of healing
On November 14, 2026, the action space in Forum Wissen Göttingen transforms into a place of intense perception. In her Healing-Performance, sociologist Helen Yogo takes the audience into a Cameroonian healing ritual, carried by the human voice.
A performance between sound, presence, and inner movement
At the center of this stage art is the voice: not as a mere means of language, but as a physically experienced sound. Helen Yogo combines performative presence with a ritual that translates the idea of inner healing into an immediate theater atmosphere. The dramaturgy arises from closeness, attention, and the focused listening of the audience.
A special moment in Forum Wissen
The 30-minute performance takes place in the action space on the first floor of Forum Wissen. As part of the podcast festival Wissen to listen, the performance enters into a dialogue with exhibitions, discussions, and sound formats around knowledge, memory, and oral traditions. At the same time, it is set within the context of the special exhibition Listen, listen! Stories, sounds, and knowledge from Burkina Faso.
A Cameroonian healing ritual as a stage experience
The staging relies on the immediate power of the human voice. Where stage design, costumes, and technical effects usually attract attention, the acoustic presence takes center stage here. The action space becomes a resonance area for a performance that connects cultural experience, body awareness, and artistic encounter.
Conclusion: A concentrated journey inward
Helen Yogo's Healing-Performance promises an unusual stage experience for all who wish to experience theater, performance art, and sound as open forms of encounter. Those who engage in the concentrated atmosphere will discover in the human voice a space between ritual, memory, and inner movement. Admission is free.
