I still don't know how we will line up this evening," said Mundt. Two more absences were added during the training week: Luca Schahmirzadi and Ruwen Maaß were not available.

Nevertheless, Mundt does not want to use the starting position as an excuse. "We will have to come up with something. Nonetheless, it doesn't matter which players are on the field, but rather how we present ourselves. The players who have recently had less playing time can now particularly showcase themselves," emphasized the Northeim coach.

Especially in a derby, where emotion and attention automatically increase, Mundt relies on the factor of appearance: discipline, tackling toughness, and cohesive processes should compensate for absences. His message is clear: "But derbies are there to be won and not to look for excuses." And the setting should also release additional energy: "Home game, Friday evening, derby – you really don't need more incentive for a good football match."

Göttingen 05 as Favorites – Also Because of the First Leg

In sporting terms, much speaks for the guest before kick-off. Mundt expects a strong opponent – and recalls the first leg, which 1. SC Göttingen 05 won 3-0. This result was "completely deserved."

For Eintracht Northeim, this results in a clear task: Eintracht must deal with the personnel restrictions without losing themselves in the game – and face the favorite with attitude, intensity, and team unity. If players from the second row seize their chance and the team appears as a unit, Northeim wants to score in the derby despite adverse circumstances.
